Heidelberg United secured the NPLW Champions title, with a 3-2 lead then come from behind win against Preston Lions at the Home of The Matildas in Bundoora.
An early penalty gave HU the lead, before Preston hit back with two stunning goals to take control of the match. With his team leading, the Lions' gaffer got himself sent off and from there his team lost it's grip on the title for the second time this season (having lost the Nike FC Cup Final earlier this year), as Heidelberg hit them with a smash and grab late equaliser and winner combo to win the Grand Final for 2024.
